Happy Mother’s Day to all you beautiful mothers, whether you be a mother of human children or of the more furry variety (like me). Even though I don’t have children I still love this special day to reflect on the love I have for my mother and to celebrate all of the amazing mothers I know. I thought I would share my special Mother’s Day drink with you this year. David surprised me a few years ago with this special martini he created just in honor of this day. We now make it every Mother’s Day and I wanted to share it with you. It has a beautiful balance of sweet citrus and elderflower. I’m not sure how we came up with the name, it’s not reminiscent of the pilgrimage of the ship to the New World, but rather a combination of it being the Month of May and the addition of elderflower liqueur. Perhaps not so creative, but there you have it. Happy Mother’s Day to my sweet and loving mom Sulu and my wonderful mother-in-law Marge. Even if you can’t be with your mother today, toast her awesomeness with this lovely martini.
