Hot apple cider. A little Tuaca spiking. Whipped cream sweetened with maple. A hint of cinnamon. What’s not to love?
adapted from: Tuaca website
12 oz hot apple cider
3 oz tuaca
maple whipped cream
1 cup heavy whipping cream
2-3 tablespoons grade A maple syrup
cinnamon sticks for garnish
Make the maple whipped cream. Before you are ready to make the whipped cream, put the beaters of the electric mixer and the bowl or measuring glass (whatever you will be whipping in) in the freezer for a while, it helps to whip the cream faster. Whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form, add the maple syrup, then beat again until peaks form. (Don’t over-whip or the texture will become lumpy and butter-like)
Warm the apple cider in a pot on the stove until steaming. Stir in the Tuaca. Divide between two Irish coffee mugs, top with whipped cream and garnish with a cinnamon stick. You can also sprinkle some cinnamon over the whipped cream as well.
*If you would like regular whipped cream, whip cream until soft peaks form, add 1 tablespoon confectioner’s sugar and 1 tsp vanilla extract and whip until peaks form.
Note- Tuaca is a sweet golden brown liqueur with brandy, notes of citrus, and dominant vanilla. Other than drinking as a cold shot, it is good in apple cider, sangria, ginger ale, cola, and cocktails with ginger.
