Grab yourself some tortilla chips and a margarita. This family famous guacamole is to die for. We’ve been making it for years and it never gets old. We have two “go-to” guacamole recipes. This is one, and we make another one with lime and a kick of heat. This is the definite crowd pleaser for chip-dipping and is in demand at our family gatherings. We have even quadrupled the recipe. There are never any leftovers, and you might have to fend off people from licking the bowl…
3 ripe avocados*, peeled and diced
2-4 tablespoons onion, minced
1 tsp garlic powder
¾ tsp seasoned salt (like Lawry’s)
cilantro, chopped (to taste) We use 1-2 tablespoons.
seeded and diced tomato, if desired.
*Authentic tortilla chips taste much better than mass-produced brands like Tostitos, in our opinion. Xochitl chips in the brown bag are really thin, crispy, and good.
